I received an alert from Family Health Centers in San Diego about their Baby Boutique initiative. My heart melted.
My husband and I have been extremely blessed with gifts of clothes, shoes, toys, books and baby equipment for our girls. Now that they are 13 months old — we have lots and lots of gently used clothing and other items that need a good home, and for a good cause.
The Holiday Baby Boutique is a program of Family Health Centers in San Diego County to help more than 2,000 moms and newborn baby patients. Many of the patients they serve struggle to purchase needed supplies and clothing for their newborn babies. Volunteers collect new and gently used baby items to stock the boutique. Patients receive “Baby Bucks” at their prenatal visits and then come shop at the boutique for items they need. (Genius!)
Family Health Centers needs donations of new and gently used baby items such as car seats, strollers, playpens, baby swings, clothing and shoes (for 0 to 5 year olds), diapers, diaper bags, and much, much more (the entire list is below).
Unwrapped donations should be dropped off this Sunday, Dec. 5 between 12 and 3 p.m. or Monday, Dec. 6 between 12 and 6 p.m. at Family Health Centers Administrative Offices at 823 Gateway Center Way (92102).
Cannot make it with an item? Provide a financial donation online.
Okay Mamas of Twins! I challenge you as well to get rid of the bins of clothes and toys we’ve accumulated and donate to this wonderful program for local families.
