This year, the team at ArtWalk refined the format of ArtWalk on the Bay and moved their event to NTC Liberty Station. And it was a great move! ArtWalk@NTC is a two day event held Aug. 24 and 25, 2013 at Ingram Plaza, which is where the tall flag pole and rose garden is on the campus of NTC Liberty Station. Enjoy live music, great food, amazing art, and fantastic kids art activities.
Here are a few things to know before you go:
1. Parking and admission are FREE! Get there early.
2. There is plenty for kids to do. There are several arts organizations hosting booths where kids can explore the senses and participate in several different types of art activities. The Art Department provided panels for kids to paint. The panels will then be displayed at their location next month. We wrote their names on the back of each one, and they are going to contact us to come see the mural. How clever!
3. ArtWalk@NTC is a fine art festival. You get to speak to the artists and sometimes see how they create their masterpieces. Be sure to find the artist who uses push pins and drops of wax to create oversized murals. I also loved the steampunk inspired bracelets, earrings and necklaces.
4. There are ATMs at the event (in case you need cash).
